Mission Statement

People in south central Minnesota, through communications and information technologies, will have access to expanded and enhanced learning opportunities and information resources.

Goals

1. Stable and reliable video and data connectivity

2. Universal Internet access throughout south central Minnesota

3. Leadership and coordination for video and data connectivity in schools and public libraries

4. Lifelong learning opportunities and information and education for all users

5. Program planning and continuous review to achieve continuous funding and use of current technology 1999-2000 Objectives

Maintain and support data and video connectivity network infrastructure and implement as much redundancy and security as possible

Maintain and stabilize funding structure and develop a continuous funding structure for communications services that is equitable for all participant sites regardless of organizational size, enrollment, and use

Develop liaison sharing and exchange relationships with technology programs, other networks, and educational ITV resources

Develop and implement desktop video project

Keep participant sites abreast of new technologies and of ways and means of utilizing existing technologies

Develop and implement an infrastructure for an information dissemination process, including local site and regional program advocates, web site, and staff development and training
